fat butt friday

as of today, i have been doing some form of exercise every day for 19 days now. i am beyond excited about this huge accomplishment of mine and look forward to continuing this journey. one of my bucket list goals for this year was to workout for 30 days in a row and i am only 11 days from reaching that goal. but, i definitely won't be stopping at 30 days because my new goal is to workout for 45 days in a row. and when i reach 45 days, i will make a new goal.

as much as i have been focused on my workouts, i must remind you that i have changed my eating habits also. the two go hand in hand. you can't expect to lose weight, or feel better, if you are only focusing on one or the other. all it takes is a little extra planning to make healthy meals.

two websites i have been using the most are clean eating and full plate diet. these websites are free to use and reiterate the importance of high fiber whole foods and teach you how to "power up" your meals. both websites also have a variety of recipes that are easy to follow and will put you in the right direction to making healthier food choices each day. i love full plate diet because it doesn't offer a secret formula for losing weight, but simply guides you in the right direction and put the power to make change into your own hands.

i have been putting what i have learned into practice by adding tons of fruits and vegetables to my meals and actually making them a lot tastier as well. one of my favorites is the oatmeal i make for breakfast every morning. i typically make 1/2 cup of steel cup oats and add in cinnamon, almonds, and a variety of fruits to change it up each day. check out some of the oatmeal flavors i have created over the last month or so.

this past week, i haven't lost any weight, but i am still down 8 lbs. and feel like i am getting stronger and have so much more energy throughout the day. i have gotten pretty bored with workouts at home on tv, so i have been running for almost a week now and love it so much more. i just put on my music and go!
